San Jose Express on hiatus...
SJX is doing remote training until at least June 22.
This is a difficult time for all of us, but we will make it and come out even stronger.
I will be blogging frequently during this time.
San Jose Express is more than just a water polo team.
We are a community and family.
Stay safe and strong!
"Every day, we go on our little walk to downtown Campbell.
My wife and I have a tasty beverage. And Willow gets to do her second favorite thing...watch birds.
There's probably a water polo lesson about that, too. But this is another lesson.
See, there's a little retail shop just down the street. If you expand the image, you might be able to make it out. It's called "The Celtic Shoppe"
(It looks like Willow is staring at it, but she's not. Somewhere there's a bird and she's going to catch it.)
We've been walking here now since March. And every day, since April, they have been open. You can't go inside but they've set up a little table and are selling.
I don't think they are making much money. Very few people walk by, very few cars drive by and there's probably not a lot of Scot's looking to bring home "a wee bit of the olde country."
But they are open. They haven't given up. They keep trying.
And that is the lesson.
Don't give up. Keep working.
If you can't get in the water, work on your strength. Work on your catching and throwing.
Work on your mental skills.
Don't give up. Keep going.
We will be back some day. And when we do, we'll be better than ever.
Because never gave up. We kept going.
